Appraisals
Appraisals of antique Indian art are performed by Ancient Arts Gallery.
Ancient Arts Gallery was established in 1980 by Roy Oswalt and is involved in
the sales of primitive and ethnographic arts, appraisals, and authentications.
If your item is Indian or pre-Columbian, it will be appraised by:
Roy Oswalt - Owner of Ancient Arts Gallery, located in downtown Scottsdale,
Arizona. In addition to the appraisal of Indian arts, Mr. Oswalt has worked as
an art restorer in ceramics, stone, bone, wood, plastics, and metals. Ancient
Arts has been engaged the appraisal and authentication of Native American and
pre-Columbian art for over 20 years. Performs daily appraisals of antique Indian
art for individuals, businesses, private collections, galleries, and museums.
Commonly appraised items include paintings, sculptures, baskets, rugs, pottery,
jewelry, and other ancient artifacts and antiques. Mr. Oswalt is the founding
member of the Arizona Society of Appraisers.
If you have an item which you would like to have appraised that is not antique
Indian art, another member of the Arizona Society of Appraisers will appraise
it. Other types of art that we can appraise include but are not limited to:
African, Egyptian, and Roman.
Our appraisers take pride in providing the public with exact and impartial
appraisals of their property and are firmly committed to provide appraisals
without ulterior motives of personal gain from the items that they appraise.
Each appraiser is a professional appraiser in his or her own field, paid to
render expert opinions in Indian arts and other antiquities.
Included in the appraisal is an email evaluation of your item and a signed,
written appraisal mailed to you.

Appraisals are $50 per item (U.S. Dollars only). We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, American
Express, Paypal, personal check, and money orders. Please call for
arrangements. Photographs are required for all appraisals. Digital
